The Mindil Beach Market is nestled against the Mindil Beach and next to the Sky City Casino resort and Darwin tennis Courts and some 800 metres from our Botantical Gardens. The markets run from the last week in April until the end of October. The market is open on Thursday from 5pm-10 pm and Sunday4pm to 9pm. Sunset during the dry is approx 6.30pm. That's right the best time we found is 5pm and then settle in and wait for the sunset. Is there free parking available at the market? Also as the parking is in an open area it is very easy for large motorhomes to park - But come about 4.30pm so it's easy to park.

The food stalls are from all countries around the world. the vary from season to season but food from Timor leste, Thialand, Chinese, Sri Lankan, Indian, African, Mexican, Pilipino, Malaysian, Greek, Aussie Outback tucker, Japenese, French and many more stalls line the walkways. The craft stall are just to numerous to even start to list but make sure you allow enough time as there is so much to see.

Unfortunately due to health and safety the market does not operate when raining. If a market is called off press releases are sent to all media. If it starts raining after the start of the market, announcements will be made to that effect. The markets have a variety of ways to keep the kids amused. Pony rides, petting zoo, laughing clowns, jumping castle with some great music and acts for the children’s entertainment and a beautiful beach by the Arafura sea. The Mindil Market area and grass areas verging onto the Mindil Beach.
